Uh Oh

I am losing followers.

Not good.

This is a sign.

I need to blog more.

Here it goes…..

So remember that happiness project I talked about a few (long time) posts ago? Well…Jan was to find a new job. And, I did it! I got a new gig at a Social Media agency called Big Fuel. Great right?!

I am currently less than 3 weeks in. Below is a status of my job thus far:

  • Find out that I am working with an ex-American Gladiator contestant: Check
  • Travel to St. Petersburg with 3 days notice to moderate a web chat with 2 Cadillac racecar drivers: Check
  • Work every weekend: Check
  • Rack up over $700 in travel expenses: Check
  • Fly to Detroit with 2 co-workers, only to drive 4 hours in a Chevy HHR for a 3 hour meeting: Check
  • Get a total of 5 hours of sleep a night: Check
  • Extend my chances of seriously becoming a cat lady: Double Check

So yeah, needless to say I am exhausted, over-worked and still single as they come- and it is only day 12. And the rest of my happiness project you ask? HA! Somewhere down the drain….far far down. And if you go looking, can you tell me if my social life is there too?

A question I seem to find myself struggling with lately

I feel like this applies to so many things in my life right now.

Out of sight, out of mind?

Or

Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Fun on the Ferry

It’s always so stressful when guests come into town- especially when you live in NYC. If I have to walk down 6th ave again in the middle of a busy Saturday and stand in the center of Times Square staring at 100 million volts of electricity lighting up the toxic sky I may be forced to re-locate.

SO, when my cousins decided to drive in from AL, I set up a different agenda! Free ferry to Staten Island to get a good view of the Statue of Liberty and the city skyline. Simple yet exciting, right?

And, to make sure we would not get bored, I picked up some serious Japanese treats at Pearl River Mart before our afternoon expedition. I kept them hidden until we got on board and picked the weirdest looking candy I could get my hands on. Some of them were scrumptious. Others, not so much! Below are my 2 favorite packages from the endeavor….

Why so sad? Not a good good eat?

Never buy candy called “Haw Piece” that looks like pepperoni slices.

Both were equally gross.

SG Dinner 3/16:

  • Turkey and Ham Sandwich
  • Chocolate Ice Cream
  • Japanese Gummy Candy

SG

Dreams

I had a dream last night that one of Charlie Sheen’s “Godesses” was presenting an Oscar. Her nail polish was all chipped and she was wearing a simple white dress. When it came time for her to read the winner of the award she flaked out and went back to her seat. I was sitting behind her and when she sat down she started reading through her text messages and laughing.

Charlie Sheen is officially invading my dreams.

Help.

That's it.

I’m done. I’m done dating. Game. Over. The reality of it- it sucks. Straight up. How many more frogs do I have to kiss before I find my prince? I am beginning to think that New York is just one giant amphibian exhibit.

What’s the fuel behind my rant tonight? I will tell you…

Tonight I went out on a date and I am not going to lie, the guy was really, really nice and sweet, but halfway into dinner he told me that in elementary school he had a learning disability. How do you respond to this? He later told me he loved video games, had traveled the world (i have not) and got way excited over HTML code. Ok, so maybe the last part confirmed that we do have a common interest (as I tend to get equally excited), but I am so way over awkward, strange dates. I saw no potential and the entire time I just wanted to crawl in my PJ’s and go to sleep until Prince Charming makes his grand entrance and wakes me up. How long is this going to last?? Honestly!!

So that’s it. I am done. I  can’t do it anymore. Single Girl needs to figure something out fast, because before she knows it she’s going to be 45, living in a single family home with 20 cats, a snow globe collection and finding herself ordering pizza every morning at 10am (true story).

SG Dinner (date at No. 7 in Ft. Greene Brooklyn):

  • Fried Brocoli followed by fried eggplant salad (only until after the eggplant arrived did I realized i ordered 2 fried items- in which my date responded that he noticed. Of course- he is super smart computer programer. He noticed everything)
  • Geneva Gin drink- Honeysuckle gin, egg white and some other yummy tonic that escapes me at the moment. 3 of these and then *snore, yawn*

XOXO,

SG

Wow. WOW! → howaboutwe.com

Who knew Charlie the Ma-Sheen could bring such insight to the dating world. Thank you How About We for making sense of his alcohol infused, self gloating jargon into dating advice that I can apply to my own life!

I am ready to go out there and be the EPIC, awesome person that I am…turning douche bags into gold and bringing them back to my sober house of crystal unicorn magic! Yay!!!

XOXO,

SG
